It would be easier to get married
To someone I never know
Never rock the boat -- or the bed.

It would be easier to go to the Majority Church
Maybe sing in the choir
Maybe go to Heaven.

It would be easier to have a kid
Or two -- to please our parents
And burn up unwanted free time.

It would be easier to wear a tie and
Get raises and pay taxes
And have vacations.

It would be easier to rot and die
So easy
A downward path, a slide,
A relaxing drop.

Is it worth the fight to resist?
I don't think I knew
How much it would cost
When I started.
